What have you accomplished with your business school mentor so far?

1. Developed a strategic marketing plan
2. Pined for him.
3. Denied my feelings for him.
4. Dragged him into an alley and had my way with him.

Roxy Quinn thought she’d never see Edward Cavendish III again. The wealthy, English hotelier had wandered into her tattoo parlor, slightly drunk and broken-hearted. Roxy judged him on the spot: too polite and reserved for her punk-rock tastes. But Edward was more than just a handsome stranger with a sexy accent.

He was a man desperate to unleash his secret desires. After a night of exquisite passion, Roxy sends Edward back into the night. She has no time to be tempted by his charming wit when her business is failing and she’s struggling with her MBA classes. Besides, they couldn’t be more wrong for each other.

After a lifetime trapped in his parents’ legacy, Edward remembers his night with the tattooed, scowling vixen as glorious freedom. But it’s not freedom he needs now. It’s to find the right wife so he can finally take charge of the hotel he loves. Roxy, with her ripped stockings and secret piercings, is not the kind of wife that would fulfill the terms of his trust fund.

Months after their memorable one-night stand, Edward and Roxy are paired up in a business school mentoring program where they must maintain a strictly professional relationship for the semester.

With the future of Roxy’s business and Edward’s inheritance at stake, can they do it? Or will they surrender to their desires, risking everything?

Review

I really just want this review to say…GO READ THIS BOOK!!!  Go read EVERYTHING by Kathryn Nolan!  But since a review is supposed to be more informative, I’ll elaborate and try to not gush too much about this book.  First, all of Kathryn Nolan’s books are so well written that it’s a true joy to just read.  She has such a beautiful way with words and with a story.  Now let’s talk about storyline.  This book shows that not only can opposites attract but opposites can explode with passion and heat.  This book is so hot and so sexy, you’ll need some recovery time after parts of it.  Not only is the book sexy, it’s a beautiful story of love, acceptance, and going after what you want.  It’s also a story of families and family struggles.  The next thing that must be addressed and another thing that Kathryn does so well is characters and character development.  I LOVE Roxy and Edward.  I love them as individual characters and I love them together.  They are complicated and vulnerable, as well as strong and so very sexy.  You are rooting for both of them the entire book.  They are so well written they seem to almost leap from the pages and sit right next to you as you read.  I don’t want to give away any more details, because this is a book that you just need to experience.   Who am I kidding, ALL of Kathryn’s books need to just be experienced.   If you haven’t read any of Kathryn Nolan’s books, then you need to remedy that RIGHT NOW!  She is definitely in my top 5 go-to-always-one-click-will-read-anything-she-writes authors.  Do yourself a favor make this the very next book you read.  WAIT…I take that back…stop what you are reading right now and go read this book instead.  You will not regret it.

Review (2)

If you are looking for another run-of-the-mill billionaire alpha male, then this book is not for you.  But if you are looking for an emotional, heart-wrenching, sexy, sweet book then you MUST read this one.  This is a standalone in the Vested Interest series.  Full disclosure, I have not read any of the other books in this series.  I did not feel like I was missing out on anything.  What this book made me want is to read the rest of the series and to read more of Melanie Moreland.

This book has so many feels!!!  You’ll laugh and you’ll cry.  Your heart will be broken and then put back together with so much love.  I’ll be honest, I love it when a characters are broken or come from a non-traditional background.  To me, those books seem more real, more believable, more hopeful.  You will be rooting for these characters and wanting to just reach out and hug them.  This book shows characters with true vulnerability and true perseverance.  You learn a new definition of family and love.

I have read hundreds and hundreds of books and most of them are just a faint memory.  I can guarantee that this book will stick with me for years to come.  Reid and Becca have definitely grabbed a piece of my heart.  I cannot recommend this book enough.

Reid Teaser - 3 PB

Excerpt

“Oh hey, Reid. Come in. I’m running late.”

Disappointed at her casual greeting, I followed her down the hall. Her ass looked especially pert and full today. I wanted to cup it. To grab her and kiss her, and grind my erection into her so she knew what she was doing to me. To prove how I was feeling was anything but casual.

Instead, I set down my bag, trying to appear nonchalant. “Am I interrupting?”

“No, I’m taking my class. Do you need in this area?” She indicated the empty space behind her.

“No, um, I can start anywhere.”

She lifted a bottle of water, taking a long swallow. The action caused her throat to work, and I was fascinated watching the pull of her muscles. When a small river of water escaped the bottle, racing down her neck and disappearing into her neckline, I was certain I whimpered. Her expression never changed.

“How about I start at the door?”

“Sure. I’ll be here.” She pointed behind me. “I poured you water. I know you like ice.”

“Thanks.”

I opened my bag on the counter, making sure I had everything I needed. I carried the control panel to the door, along with the contact and other items I would need. The music started up again, and I glanced down the hall, freezing. My eyes widened when I realized what class she was taking. One, until this moment, I didn’t know existed.

Not yoga or one of the jazzer-whatever classes.

Pole dancing.

Becca was fucking pole dancing in front of me.

I stared as she went through some moves, seemingly forgetting I was even in the area. I knew my mouth hung open. I knew my dick lengthened.

I knew I was fucked.

She was elegant and graceful, a blur of movement as she twirled and arched.

Wicked and tempting as she wrapped her legs around the pole and bent backward. The bow of her back was mesmerizing as she hung upside down with only the strength of her legs holding her in position.

I had to turn away, fumbling with the items in my hands. I shut my eyes, counted to ten, and reached for the drill. I needed to concentrate.

Except my gaze drifted back to her and I stared for endless moments, caught up in her actions. She hung on the pole using only her hands, her legs split and wide, balancing. She transitioned into a spin and moved onto yet another seductive move.

I dropped the control unit, annihilating it when the drill landed on top. Cursing, I picked it up, grateful I always carried a spare. In the kitchen, I dug the other one from my bag, then desperate to cool off, grabbed the glass of water she had for me and drank it down. I leaned against the back counter, watching Becca’s mesmerizing form.

She did a series of moves, ending with a one-legged spin, her arms controlling the motion. When she was done, she bent low, one leg around the pole, her arm locked in position. Her hair dragged on the floor, her other arm stretched back, highlighting her curves. Her face tilted in my direction, and our eyes locked across the room. Her chest heaved, mine matching her breathing without thought. A slow, sexy smirk split her mouth.

“You like that, Reid?” she asked, her voice a throaty purr.

The entire week crashed down on me. The worry, disappointment, and frustration made me react. I didn’t care about her father’s views, her ideas of convicts. I didn’t care we needed to talk. It didn’t matter. All that mattered was touching her. She knew what seeing her would do to me. She did this deliberately to provoke me.

It was my turn. The only thing standing in my way was the counter.

I was going over it.

Meet Kristen:

1P0A9162

Kristen was born and raised in a small resort town in her beloved Montana. In her mid-twenties, she decided to stretch her wings and move to the Pacific Northwest, where she made her home for more than a dozen years.

During that time, Kristen wrote many romance novels and joined organizations such as RWA and other small writing groups. She spent countless hours in workshops, and more mornings than she can count up before the dawn so she could write before going to work. She submitted many manuscripts to agents and editors alike, but was always told no. In the summer of 2012, the self-publishing scene was new and thriving, and Kristen had one goal: to publish just one book. It was something she longed to cross off of her bucket list.

Not only did she publish one book, she’s since published close to thirty titles, many of which have hit the USA Today, New York Times and Wall Street Journal Bestsellers lists. She continues to self publish, best known for her With Me In Seattle and Boudreaux series, and is also proud to work with William Morrow, a division of HarperCollins, with the Fusion Series.

Kristen and her husband, John, make their home in her hometown of Whitefish, Montana with their two pugs and two cats.

Review
If you love reading romantic comedy books that will make you laugh out loud and spew your drink, then Pippa Grant needs to be on your automatic one-click, always buy, go to author list. Her imagination never ceases to amaze me. Everything about her books are wacky, crazy and over the top in the best possible way. They are also, sexy, steamy, and sweet. I can’t get enough of this author. After every book that she writes I think, “this is my favorite”. Well, that only lasts until the next book. This book is definitely one of my favorites of hers. The main characters are strong, yet have a vulnerable side. Her side characters are just as hilarious as the main characters. The sexy times are hot and steamy. If you need a book that will make you laugh and lift your spirits then this is the book for you. I can gush about this book forever. Just trust me when I say you need this book in your life and you need this author in your life.

P.S. I forgot the basics. This is a complete standalone with no cliffhangers. However, some of the characters you meet in this book already have books of their own, but it is not necessary to read them. But I know you will want to when you are done.

New Release and Review: Bishop by Sawyer Bennett

Bishop: An Arizona Vengeance Novel
Sawyer Bennett
Release Date: August 14, 2018

Synopsis:

Meet the Arizona Vengeance, hockey’s hottest new team. They’re burning up the ice—until a one-night-stand with the coach’s daughter freezes one player in his skates.

Bishop Scott, co-captain. Not too shabby, huh? It’s all part of my fresh start with the NHL’s latest expansion team, and that means new teammates, a new coach, a new city, and a big new contract. Basically, I cannot f***ing wait to show my old squad what they’re missing.

But first, I decide to check out the town before the grind begins. Turns out Arizona chicks are totally smokin’, and I’m fortunate enough to meet one who’s looking for the same thing I am: a night of anonymous, unforgettable, no-strings-attached sex.

Fast forward to the Vengeance arena. It’s the last place I expect to see her again—let alone in her own office. Then bells go off and I finally realize who this girl is: Brooke Perron. My new coach’s daughter. All of a sudden, we’re picking up right where we left off, which means our hands are all over each other. That’s when her dad—my boss—walks in. And before I can get a word out, Brooke’s introducing me as her fiancé.

Sure, she just saved my ass. So why do I get the feeling Brooke’s going to turn my world upside down? Maybe it’s because this fake relationship feels way too real. . . .

Review:

If you love a hockey romance then you can’t get much better than Sawyer Bennett.  I loved her Carolina Cold Fury series so I was really looking forward to this book.  This book is the first book in a new hockey series, Arizona Vengeance.  We get to meet a whole new team of sexy hockey players.  There are a few players that I’m already excited to read their story.  This book starts out as a one night stand and turns into coincidences that turns into a fake-but-not-really relationship.  This book has a little bit of drama, some humor, great side characters, and lots of hotness.  This is one of the lighter reads of this author.  There is lots of sexiness and the story moves along.  The one thing that I was disappointed in is that the ending seems a little rushed and ends a little abruptly.  I wish there was an epilogue to this book.  Other than that it was a delightful book.  If you are looking for a quick, sexy, hockey romance then definitely check this book out.

Liam
The moment Sadie Matthews walks through the daycare center door, I feel my world tilt in her direction. Again. I fell for her when I was fourteen, and I’m still not over her. Problem: she still thinks of me as a teen she used to babysit. But I’ve learned a few things about pleasing a woman in the last fifteen years. I can’t wait to show her how good it could be. I need to move quickly before I lose her again. This is more than a game to me, but I still plan to win.

Sadie
I’ve just survived the worst year of my life. As a single mom of twin toddlers, I don’t have time for a man. I barely have time to finish a thought. Who knew that Liam McAllister would grow up to be so devastating? He’s everything my husband was not: tall, built, and willing to have a tea party with my girls.

I can’t possibly get involved with him. He’s too young for me. Too handsome. But he’s so persuasive…

Review:

Let’s get the basics out of the way.  This is the third book in the Man Hands series, but it can be read as a complete standalone.  Each book focuses on a different couple.  Just don’t be surprised if after this book you immediately go and get the other books in this series.

This is a light, fun, funny, sweet romantic comedy.  I love this book and love this series.  These two authors are a perfect match to bring us a delightful book.  Not only is it sweet and funny, but it’s sexy and swoony.  There is also a little realness aspect of the situations that adds to its charm.  I do think this book should come with a warning….beware of sexy man who is great with children, expect lots of drool and swoons.  The kids and Liam’s interactions with them adds so much more to this book.  This becomes a part of the story.  Many times kids are such a peripheral part of a story, when in real life they play an integral part.  There is a little bit of an age difference.  Honestly, sometimes that creeps me out, but in this book it really doesn’t play that much of a factor.  Their interactions are believable and mature.  Both us as readers and Sadie are persuaded that age doesn’t make a difference.  If you are looking for a fun, easy read, that will have you swooning and laughing out loud then definitely check out this book.

Excerpt:

I messed up. Big time.

These are my thoughts as I rush into the bathroom for the world’s fastest shower. The hot spray of water judges me as I hastily wash Liam off my thighs.

A better mother wouldn’t let this happen. I shouldn’t have a younger lover. If I didn’t, he wouldn’t be so deliciously appealing. I couldn’t lose my mind, wake him up out of a sound sleep to ride him like a pony. And then collapse beside him in peaceful, sated slumber.

Seriously, how did I let that happen?

You know how, my hormones scold me. Because he’s the hottest thing you’ve ever tasted.

Oh yeah. That.

After showering I get dressed at top speed. Poor Liam is currently shouldering all my parental responsibilities. Throwing on yesterday’s sundress, I pause for a moment to pop a birth control pill, because that’s one thing I won’t goof up.

Then I hurry downstairs.

The sight in the kitchen gives me heart palpitations. But not because there’s flour dusting much of the countertop. Rather, it’s the hot, shirtless guy holding my toddler and making a dump truck sound as Amy tips the measuring spoon over a bowl.

“Yes! Well done, little miss,” he says, relieving her of the spoon. “Batter up!” he says, easing her to the floor and catching Kate, who’s trying to climb him like a tree.

Aren’t we all.

Liam easily rests Kate on one of his perfect arms, measures a half teaspoon of baking powder one-handed and then hands the spoon to Kate. “Beep beep beep,” he says, making the sound of a truck backing up. “Look out below!”

Kate dumps the spoonful into the bowl and giggles.

“Awesome. Who wants to add the milk?”

“My do it!” Amy yells.

Boy, I need another minute of alone time to compose myself. Because I love this picture a little too much. I love Liam’s ease with my girls. I love how calm he is at the center of toddler-induced mayhem.

It causes a little pain in my heart as I allow myself one more comparison to my former life. The truth is I never once saw Decker elbows-deep in kitchen chaos with a kid on one arm. Starting breakfast with twins in tow? He was more likely to captain a NASA expedition to Mars than he was to do this simple Saturday morning thing.

I feel like crying for no reason at all. Clearly I’m on some kind of emotional overload. Maybe coffee will help.

Sliding into the kitchen, I go right for the coffee grounds.

“Mama!” Amy says. “Wiam making pancakes.”

“That is amazing,” I say in a wobbly voice. “What a lucky girl you are.”

“Sorry about the mess,” he says, casting a glance in my direction. And I know he doesn’t just mean the flour on the counter, but the bigger mess of waking up naked in my bed.

“You know,” I say with a small sigh. “Messes shouldn’t scare me so much. It’s going to be fine.”

Liam’s smile is so filled with relief, that I now feel like an ogre. This man wants to make pancakes with us on Saturday morning, and I said no to that before? I’m clearly insane.

“Which frying pan should I use?” he asks, casting an eye on the cookware hanging from the rack over the sink.

“Oh, no. You want this.” I pull a double-burner griddle out of a lower cabinet.

“Oooh,” he says. “Mommy has the fancy pancake griddle.”

Kate giggles. She’s gazing at Liam as if he invented fun.

And in my life, I guess he did.

Here’s the tricky thing about being a shrink—sometimes you notice that you’re doing something that’s exactly contrary to the advice you’d give your patients.

I’m having one of those moments right now.

If I had a single mom in my office telling me there was a lovely guy in her life who was kind to her kids—and yet she was giving him the stiff arm? I’d tell her: “Be kind to yourself. Don’t push away the good people in your life, especially if you think you don’t deserve them. Let people surprise you.”

I’m such a hypocrite.

Also, I need caffeine.

Ten minutes later I’m sipping from a mug of coffee, but Liam’s is cooling on the countertop. The man has his hands full right now as he puts pancakes on the griddle with “help” from my daughters.

“How about a few of these?” he asks, holding up a bag of chocolate chips. Meanwhile, Kate waves the spatula around like a ninja. “A guy needs to make smiley faces in his pancakes sometimes.”

Good. Lord. It’s a miracle I’m not just a puddle of my former self right now. This is some serious mommy porn I’m watching. Shirtless guy feeds toddlers before eight a.m. I walk over to the high cabinet where I keep the ramekins. “We could make smiley faces with dried organic currants,” I say, just to be a pain in the ass.

Liam makes a face of disgust as I take the chocolate chips from his hand and pour some into a ramekin. “Joking! Here.”

He gives me a big, hot smile. Okay, it probably wasn’t meant to be hot, but I feel flutters down below.

“Choc-it!” Kate yells, grabbing for the ramekin.

“Easy,” Liam says with a laugh. “That’s for my artwork. Come here and I’ll show you.”

I set the table and pour the sippy cups of milk. And Liam manages to serve up two smiley pancakes—one for each girl—at exactly the same moment, in exactly the same size. This is a man who knows his way around toddlers.

“Not cut it!” Amy yells when I approach her plate with a knife. She picks up the pancake in two hands and takes a bite right out of the side of its face.

“Okay, right.” I back away. Forks are optional today, then. No big deal.

Liam takes advantage of this moment of quiet to quickly pour six more pancakes onto the griddle. He leans over his work, dotting them with chocolate chips.

I step closer to him and put a hand on his lower back. “Thank you,” I whisper.

“For trashing your kitchen?”

“No.” He glances at me and I give him a shy smile. “For being so amazing all the time.”

His eyes get very warm, and I just want to stay right here in that blue-eyed gaze as long as I can. “This might be a good time to confess that I didn’t make smiley faces on my own pancakes.”

“No?” I look down at the griddle. Side by side, two of them have a different design—little bullseyes in their centers. “Those are…?”

“Boobs,” he whispers. “My inner fourteen-year-old has a dirty mind. He can’t shut it off sometimes.”

“Drink your coffee,” I whisper, handing him the mug. “Sit down. Let me finish these for you. Or go put on a shirt because my inner fourteen-year-old has her tongue hanging out all the time, too.”

He gives me a wicked, wicked smile and then runs upstairs to find his shirt.

Author Bio
Pippa Grant is a stay-at-home mom and housewife who loves to escape into sexy, funny stories way more than she likes perpetually cleaning toothpaste out of sinks and off toilet handles. When she’s not reading, writing, sleeping, or trying to prepare her adorable demon spawn to be productive members of society, she’s fantasizing about chocolate chip cookies.
