Review:
This is the third book in Melissa Foster’s The Whiskey series. Don’t let that deter you, it is definitely a stand-alone. The Whiskey series has characters that are rougher around the edges than this author’s other series but I think they may have more heart. Out of all her series this one is my favorite. I think it’s because the characters are tougher and more raw. They are hard working and close knit. No fancy rich people in this group. They work hard and play hard, but they also love hard. Their hearts are bigger too. All this describes the entire series but especially the two main characters in this book. On the surface these two couldn’t be more different. But the more you get to know them the more you realize how alike Bullet and Findlay are. They both struggle with issues brought on by war. They also care a great deal about others and have a desire to take care of the people around them. As with any Melissa Foster book your emotions get a workout. The good thing is that it’s a quick read, and you know there’s always a happy ending. If you like a man rough and tough but with a heart of gold and a sweet woman that will bring him to his knees then you definitely need to check out this book.
