Review

Secrets, baked goods, coffee, and a dash of suspense. All these make for a great second book in The Company series. This is a complete standalone and you do not need to have read the first book in the series to enjoy this one.

There is so much chemistry between these second-chance “rivals” that it just leaps off the page. I love the strength and determination of Posy. Once you get past Gunnar’s aversion to being back in NYC, you find a sweet, protective alpha who is trying to push back the hurts of the past. I love their journey of learning the truths of the past and learning to move on and overcome them. I also love how they can’t seem to stay away from each other. The chemistry and the sizzle between them just endears you more to their story.

I love the balance between the action and the romance. One never seems to overpower the other, and all of this combined makes for an enjoyable read. The secondary characters are also interesting, and I hope to hear more of their stories in the future. I can’t wait for the next book in this series. This book is exciting but not heavy. It should definitely be in your TBR pile.
